BPS Holds Training for Susenas Field Officers in March 2023

BPS Halmahera Timur Regency, North Maluku, has conducted training for field officers who will be involved in the March 2023 National Socioeconomic Survey (SUSENAS). This training aims to improve the competence and skills of officers in collecting accurate and reliable SUSENAS data.

The National Socio-Economic Survey is a survey regularly conducted by BPS with the aim of obtaining data on the socio-economic conditions of the Indonesian people. This data is very important in formulating national and regional development policies.

SUSENAS field officer training was carried out in two waves. The first batch was carried out from 12 to 13 February 2023 and there was an additional day on 14 February 2023 for officers who also took part in the Quarterly Household Economic Survey (SERUTI). As for the second batch, it was held from 16 to 17 February 2023. The training was attended by 48 field officers consisting of 32 census officers (PCL) and 16 supervisors (PML).

The Head of BPS for East Halmahera Regency, Mr. Hamka Bahas, S.Sc., M.Sc., stated that this training was very important because SUSENAS field officers must have sufficient knowledge and skills to be able to collect SUSENAS data properly. In addition, the training also emphasizes the importance of integrity and work ethics in collecting data.

In this training, SUSENAS field officers learned about data collection techniques, the use of survey instruments, and also how to answer questions asked by respondents. They were also given training on how to conduct interviews and techniques for collecting data correctly from the results of the interviews.

It is hoped that with this training, SUSENAS field officers can work better and produce accurate and reliable data. Accurate and quality SUSENAS data is an important basis for formulating development policies that are right on target.
